Üsküdar University offers 6 faculties and 1 vocational school, providing 39 undergraduate programs to students. It also hosts more than 30 research centers, allowing students to conduct research and practical applications across various fields.
History and Educational Journey of Üsküdar University
In March 2011, the NP Group, a leader in neuroscience and psychiatry research, decided to establish a university reflecting its academic identity and research success. Üsküdar University was founded after the creation of the first neuroscience and psychiatry research lab. In the same year, the university established the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Health Sciences, with its first academic year beginning in 2012-2013. In June 2014, the university graduated its first cohort from the Vocational School of Health Services after a two-year program.
Üsküdar University continued to expand, establishing the Sufism Studies Institute in 2014 and accrediting the NPİSTANBUL Hospital, Turkey’s first private psychiatric hospital, as part of its mission. In December 2014, the university represented Turkey in the Brain Initiative Program in the United States. The university also developed television and radio studios for the Faculty of Communication, launched its publishing house, and established the Institute of Addiction Science and Forensic Medicine in 2016.
UNESCO recognized Üsküdar University as a distinguished institution in neuroscience, brain research, and neurobiology.
Location of Üsküdar University
Üsküdar University is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, with a unique view of the Bosphorus. It consists of three main campuses:
- Main Campus in the Alton Zadeh area, a central point of Üsküdar district, which includes the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Sufism Studies, and Forensic Sciences.
- Üsküdar Çarşı Campus located in the heart of Üsküdar, with convenient transport access, hosting the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Institute of Health Sciences, and more.
- Alton Zadeh South Campus, home to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Communication, and Faculty of Health Sciences. This campus is well connected to public transport, including the Üsküdar Çekmeköy Metro Station and Metrobüs.

- Many students are attracted to Üsküdar University’s Faculty of Medicine due to its innovative curricula in medicine, mental health, and psychiatry. The university provides excellent tools, labs, and research centers that enhance practical training, including dedicated training hospitals such as NP Istanbul Brain Hospital, NP Etiler Medical Center, and NP Feneryolu Medical Center.
